Take time to refocus from hectic work environments

I recently read an article describing ways to refocus when working in stressful work environments.  Technology is around us to improve our lives but I am sure no one will argue that it interferes with our lives too.  Technology like cell phones and emails allow us to be constantly connected with our work if we should like or have to be.  I thought it may be useful to share a few tips on how to refocus mental energy that may be overexerted in todays work environment.

Four items the article references are as follows:

1. Find everything you need for work from the Internet, make those pages available offline, and pull the plug on your connection.

2. Take dedicated breaks and don’t allow yourself to stray from your break time.

3. Read one item at a time, and work on one task at a time.

4. Outside work, participate in activities that require high-levels of concentration.

I thought these tips may come in handy for us all as we work our way through the final stretch of CIS 600.
